About us
Bioingenium is a recently created spin-off in the field of white and red biotechnology by a multidisciplinary team from the Bioprocess Engineering and Applied Biocatalysis group of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) Spain, located in the Barcelona Science Park Bioincubator (PCB-Santander Bioincubator).

The mission of Bioingenium is the development and application of technology for recombinant protein production, from gene to pilot plant, as an instrument to obtain bioproducts with biomedical applications in animal and human health, as well as for the chemistry and pharmaceutical industries (recombinants enzymes).

Bioingenium is focused on the use of yeast and bacteria heterologous systems for the production of biologicals, with emphasis on recombinant proteins. In particular Pichia pastoris expression system.
